Landscape with an old oak — Adriaen van Ostade
Adriaen van Ostade. Painted c. 1639 - c. 1641.
Adriaen van Ostade from Haarlem painted not only a great many genre scenes with farming folk, but also several landscapes. This painting, with its dramatic contrast between light and shadow, betrays the influence of Rembrandt.
