Jean Baptiste Vanmour. Painted c. 1720 - c. 1737.

This painting gives a licentious image of the courtiers. At left two guards are smoking their pipe undisturbed, while behind them a party of people indulge in eating, drinking, music- and lovemaking.

From the collection of the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam. Currently on display in At the Ottoman court, 18th Century, Main building.
