This panel and the painting next to it formed part of a series of scenes from the life of the Virgin. Here we see Christ taking leave of his mother, in spite of her pleading with him not to go to Jerusalem.
From the collection of the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam. Currently on display in Main building, Middle Ages and Renaissance, Christian art in the Netherlands.
