The Drawing Lesson — Abraham van Strij
Abraham van Strij. Painted c. 1790 - c. 1809.
A young pupil receives drawing instruction in the studio of his master. Perhaps the teacher is Abraham van Strij himself, who shared a large workshop in Dordrecht with his brother Jacob. The boy is drawing after a plaster cast of an ancient statue.
