Italian Landscape with Girl milking a Goat — Karel du Jardin
Karel du Jardin. Painted 1652.
These Italian peasants have risen early to milk the, cattle. A soft yellow mist still hangs in the valley. Du Jardin underscored their simple life by portraying the woman with bare feet. Clad in vibrant blue and red clothes, the two figures stand out brightly against the yellow-brown mountain landscape.
